How to Book a Cab With Us
Most of our customers don't call us anymore. They just message.
A few years back, booking a taxi in Mangalore meant a phone call, someone scribbling your pickup details on a notepad, and hoping the message got passed on to the right driver. If you called back to check, whoever picked up had to go flip through the register to find your booking.
That's not how it works here anymore.
You message us on WhatsApp. We handle the rest.
Tell us where you're going — an airport drop, a day trip to Kudroli or Panambur, an outstation run to Coorg or Udupi — and you'll get a fare and a vehicle option back within minutes, sometimes within seconds. No hold music, no "let me check and call you back."
Here's roughly what that looks like in practice:
"Need a cab tomorrow, 4 people, Mangalore airport to Kudroli, 9 AM pickup."
That's it. You'll get back a vehicle suggestion (usually an Etios or a Sedan depending on group size), the fare, and a payment link if you want to pay the advance right there.
We're not guessing at this — this is genuinely how the booking flow works on the backend. It's built on the same AI-driven trip planning system that a lot of Indian taxi operators are now using to take bookings straight off WhatsApp without anyone typing it into a register.
What Happens After You Book
Once your booking is confirmed, you don't have to keep checking in.
- You'll get your driver's name, phone number, and vehicle number the evening before your trip — automatically, without asking.
- On the day, once your driver starts moving, you get a live tracking link, so you know exactly how far away the car is instead of standing outside guessing.
- If your pickup time or location changes — say you're at a hotel and it's a different address than what you originally gave — you can just message us and it gets updated. No need to call and explain the whole booking again.
This is the same automated notification setup Easy Trip Booking documents here — booking confirmation, driver details, tracking links, all sent without a staff member manually typing each one out. We run on it because, frankly, it means fewer things get missed, especially during peak season when we've got a dozen trips going out the same morning.
Paying for Your Trip
For most local trips, you can pay on arrival like always. For outstation bookings, we usually ask for a partial advance to hold the vehicle — you'll get a simple payment link over WhatsApp, and you can pay by UPI or card in a few taps. No app to download, no OTP headaches.
If your plans change and you need to cancel, refunds on the advance are processed automatically based on how close to the trip date you cancel — you're not waiting on someone to manually approve a bank transfer. Here's a good explanation of how automated refund calculation typically works for bookings like ours.
Why We Set It Up This Way
Honestly, it wasn't always like this. We ran on phone calls and a notebook for a long time, same as most local operators. It worked fine at a small scale, but the moment bookings picked up — especially outstation and airport runs where timing actually matters — the cracks started showing. A missed call meant a missed booking. A driver not getting the memo about a pickup change meant an angry customer standing on the roadside.
Moving to a proper booking and dispatch system fixed most of that. If you're curious about the kind of platform we use to run this — most Mangalore-based cab operators end up looking at the same handful of options — Easy Trip Booking is the one that ended up working for us, largely because it plugs directly into WhatsApp instead of asking customers to install a separate app.
